Alana started Bookworm Global when she got an overwhelming number of elementary school age books while trying to collect teen books for The Book Truck. Over the last two years, she has seen firsthand that teens are largely forgotten. Alana is fundraising to bring books and literacy to homeless, foster care, and low-income teens across LA County.
Alana is a committed member of The Book Truck’s Teen Council and, as founder of Bookworm Global, has donated thousands of high-quality, diverse books to our programming.

In celebration of National Literacy Day 2022, Bookworm Global and The Book Truck are joining forces to do what each of us does best and help revitalize and support high school libraries and teen programs in LA’s most underserved communities, where high school dropout rates can be as high as 50%.
Alana and Bookworm Global have a fundraising goal of $100,000 in order to increase literacy rates for thousands of our community’s most vulnerable teens.
